Oslo and Trondheim 2014
When we decided to join the community of hashtag lunch bag, we did it because we wanted to give back in a different way, a way that involves not only material things or food in this case, but time.
It is incredible the amount of love and happiness you get by just giving a lunch bag made by youself to someone in their own hands. We all need that touch, that feeling you get when someone is smiling at you just because they see you. We underestimate the power of kindness, constantly. People in the streets normally are not just hungry and cold, but lonely. If you give your most precious thing, time, you may be changing that person’s day, or even life.
The first time we did #HashtagLunchbag, we collaborated with Salvation Army Oslo and Kirkens Bymisjon. We first met with friends to make over 200 lunch bags and then we split in two teams to deliver them.
Every time someone got one lunch bag they thanked us, they shook our hand, and even gave us a smile. One of the best moments of that day, was when one of them asked if he could hug us. We have to keep in mind that we always get more of what we give. That’s the beauty of kindness.
The second and third time we did #HashtagLunchbag was in collaboration with Salvation Army in Oslo and Trondheim.
We want to invite more people to do the same, to share some time with the people who need it most.
“No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted.”
